I'm so excited to have Roxanne Rhoades here today for an interview to promote her new book, Paranormal Pleasures. If you haven't read my quickie review of her book, you can check it out HERE.
Hi Roxanne, thank you for stopping by Secrets of a Book Lover!
Thanks for having me today.
I really enjoyed reading this collection. It was exciting, sexy and crazy hot! Was it just as much fun for you to write as it was for me to read?
Oh definitely. I try to have as much fun as possible when writing the short stories.
I have to say, Halloween to Remember was my favorite of all the stories. Which was your favorite?
Halloween is my favorite holiday so I have to agree with you, A Halloween to Remember is probably my favorite story in the collection even though there's not a vampire in sight.
I think my favorite character is Connor. Sexy, seductive and a forked tongue. What more could a girl ask for? Who is your favorite character?
I love Dimitri- I am always a sucker for a sexy accent. Though Connor has an accent too plus all his "bonus features". Hmm, can I have them both...as my favorite characters in this book...what were you thinking? LOL
If you could be one female character in one of your stories, who would it be and why?
In a a series I'm working on now, there's a character-Mel, she's a witch, she's dark and exotic and completely sexy with a lot of sass. I'd want to be her- just because she's like everything I'm not- exotic, powerful, sure of herself... ;-)
Where do you get your inspiration for your stories? Other books, movies, does it just come to you? I have to know, LOL!
Most of the time things just come to me. I'll be doing something completely non-writing related and an idea will pop into my head or a character will appear in my imagination. I try to scribble as much detail down before forgetting it if I can't get to the computer and start working on it right away.
Who is your favorite author?
Oh boy- I have a lot of them. Kim Harrison, Chloe Neill, Jeaniene Frost, Nicole Peeler...and that's just the tip of a very long list.
What is your favorite book? How many times have you read it?
Again the list is so long I can't pick just one. I can tell you my favorite series are The Hollows featuring Rachel Morgan by Kim Harrison, Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series featuring Cat and Bones.
I don't often re-read books (except for the things I read to my kids of course). I have a hell of a memory and I can pick up books I read as a kid and tell you all about them even though I haven't read it in twenty plus years. That kind of makes re-reading a book pointless.
Vampires or werewolves? vampires
Demons or witches? witches
Book or eBook? I do both now that I have a Kindle, but still prefer the feel of a physical book in my hands
Chocolate or vanilla? dark chocolate
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions! I look forward to reading more yummy stories!
Thanks so much. I am glad you enjoyed them.
